Our mission is to collect, preserve, document and make available materials that inspire and help educate present and future generations in Nigeria of their cultural heritage.
We are interested in receiving materials that are historically and culturally significant, authentic, in excellent condition and if possible, linked to the history of cultural artists across Nigeria.
Currently we are collecting items of historic and period interest dating from as early as 1900, including household items, raffia objects, water pots, dyeing-pots, old historic building bricks, doors and windows, calabashes, small art objects, carvings, bamboos, photographs, early promotion calendars, books and press cuttings.
Step into the heart of Ibadan’s culture and history with our thoughtfully curated exhibitions. Each display showcases the artistry, traditions and stories that define our heritage, from ancient artifacts and traditional crafts to modern interpretations of cultural expression.
Our exhibitions are designed to educate, inspire and connect visitors to the vibrant legacy of Ibadan. Whether through rotating showcases or permanent collections, every visit offers a unique opportunity to explore the richness of our past and its relevance to the present.
